Krewe of Centurions

Accessibility Statement

Effective September 11, 2026. We’ll update this date whenever this statement changes in a meaningful way.

The Krewe of Centurions wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. This is an ongoing effort, not a one-time fix, and this page describes where things stand.

What we’ve built in

This site is built and reviewed with the following in place on every page:

  • A clear heading structure, with exactly one main heading (H1) per page.
  • Visible keyboard focus styling on links, buttons, and form fields, so you can see where you are when navigating by keyboard.
  • Support for your system’s reduced-motion setting — decorative animation and the custom cursor effect turn off automatically if you’ve asked your device to reduce motion.
  • Descriptive alt text on meaningful images; purely decorative images are marked so screen readers skip over them.
  • Readable type sizes and colors chosen for contrast against their backgrounds.
  • Native, keyboard-operable form controls throughout the site and Member Portal.

Known limitations

  • Some photography is still placeholder artwork while we wait on final approved images from the Krewe.
  • A few pages (for example, Leadership) currently show “awaiting confirmation” placeholders instead of final content, since that information hasn’t been supplied yet.
  • We have not yet completed a formal third-party accessibility audit against WCAG guidelines. We aim to meet or exceed common accessibility guidelines, but we’re not claiming formal certification at this time.
In progress: as placeholder content is replaced with final, Krewe-confirmed material, we’ll recheck those pages against the same standards described above.
